We value time very highly.
That is why simplicity is such an appealing characteristic of any interaction we have to engage in to achieve an outcome, whether in business or as a consumer.
I read a post by Gary Vaynerchuk who describes having passed over initial funding rounds of Uber (twice), because he honestly admits that he “didn’t get it”.
He got it eventually 😉
He realized that Uber doesn’t sell transportation.
Uber sells us time.
People value time over everything . . .
Which is why convenience and lack of friction win.
Having been wowed by the “Trust Equation” by Charles H. Green, I reflected on an equation on Value.
Value, in business or as a consumer, is not just about the outcome.
Value is the sum of Outcome divided by (Cost + Elapsed Time + Effort + Frustration)
We need to keep this in mind in our transformation and continuous improvement programs.
You can read Gary’s post about his “Aha Moment” with Uber here . . . .
Of course, you may be able to remember when “Time” meant this . . .

Thanks for reading . . .
