Global Process Ownership: Lessons from the Leaders
Just 5 months ago I participated in the North American GPO Summit (my findings were summarised here). More recently I was invited to attend the GPO and Process Excellence Summit in London so I thought I should share some perspectives on what has developed after 5 months! I always try to challenge myself to produce a synopsis of the currents of thinking, the GPO ‘zeitgeist’ if that is not too pretentious a term!
There were a number of great discussions around Automation, from unintended consequences, to RPA, which continues to be a hot topic. Another highlight was around what the driving force of the GPO should be, whether a leader, a manager, for change and so on, with some interesting perspectives shared amongst the GPO leaders present. There was something for everyone, across vast ranging processes and parts of the business, giving a broad overview of common challenges, as well as some success stories to emulate!
I compiled my thoughts into a list of the top 10 most interesting discussions, for easy reading, which you can find here.
Our ‘Something To Consider’ snippets are framed as small, digestible, ‘dashes of insight’ around the pillars of what we define as “World Class Finance” – Process Optimization, Financial Control and Compliance, and Risk Assurance, all underpinned by technology enablement and integration.
