Something to Consider: GBS Leaders to the Front Line of Innovation

Something to Consider February 2020 3

GBS leaders are moving from the back office to leading the front lines of innovation according to McKinsey, and coincidentally, us! We have a short blog post on this latest research. This is a big aspiration, not without its challenges. Equipping leaders with as much shared knowledge and experiences as possible is critical to the success of this transition.

I am giving talks that touch on this topic at a couple of conferences in London over the coming weeks. I would recommend them, not because I am speaking (sigh of relief!), but for the depth and breadth of learning and information sharing from peers;

The Shared Services Leaders’ Summit 2020, London, 18-19 March

What are the changing pressure points within GBS and Shared Services? Sessions include: defining and redlining GBS, branding and reputation, the shift from cost to value, the new battle for talent, partnering strategies, transformation and “bite-sized” process improvements in tandem, outsourcing in the 20’s, the new role of ERP, automation and end-to-end process, data driven decision making and more. A lot to inspire new thought and action…

Across the two days you’ll network and learn from peers such as Novartis, McDonalds, AkzoNobel, ABB, Coca-Cola, National Grid, Smith & Nephew, Kraft Heinz and more!

It’s free to attend, you can request an invitation here

Insights 2020, London, 4-5 March

The theme of the event will be aspiration and execution of the journey to ‘World-Class’, and we will hear experiences from household name firms that are digitizing and transforming their P2P global processes.

Harnessing technology, laying a digital foundation, optimising capability and gaining strategic value turn the world of P2P from a state of marginal improvement to complete transformation.

Strategies, observations and experiences will be shared by BT, Thermo-Fisher Scientific, Mondelez, Orange, Marsh & McLennan, The Hackett Group, PwC, Deloitte, among others, as well as David McCandless, the author of “Information Is Beautiful”

If you haven’t already registered (it’s free to attend!), please do so asap, as spaces will go quickly!

Our ‘Something To Consider’ snippets are framed as small, digestible, ‘dashes of insight’ around the pillars of what we define as “World Class Finance” – Process Optimization, Financial Control and Compliance, and Risk Assurance, all underpinned by technology enablement and integration.
