Pop up Session: Burning Down the Shared Services House

18th March: 4pm London, 9am Pacific, 12pm Eastern, 5pm CET

What is the future of Business Services, Shared Services and even the CIO/IS organisation in the “Roaring 20’s”?

They might not seem so roaring right now, but there is no time like the present to consider this question, maybe through a fresh lens…

I’m sure many of you, like us, have had meetings and business travel cancelled/changed and even work-life practices are being turned upside down for many.

It can feel frustrating, but times like these force us to reevaluate how we work, travel and interact, and we need to adapt to changing circumstances.

To maintain contact and information sharing across our business networks in these strange times, we streamed a “pop-up” web discussion that we would have been giving at a conference.

“Burning Down the House” – If our business burned down tomorrow, how would we rebuild Global Business Services, Shared Services, Finance Operations or even the CIO function? What have we learned? What would we do different?

We shared perspectives in a conversation on the shape of business, shared services, business processes, transformation, digital, new technologies, the role of data, and the shape of the new “house” of business services.

Whether you are working from home, on the road or in the office, and have 45 minutes, give this a watch or listen.

We still need to “sharpen the saw”, as Stephen Covey noted in “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”
